A 33 year old Early Childhood Development (ECD) teacher at Furious Mine School in Chinhoyi has appeared in court after allegedly defrauding Gladys Chanda (33) of $598.
Pauline Shoko appeared before Gutu magistrate Edwin Marecha on Tuesday facing fraud charges.
It is alleged that in January 2016, the two met at Hwiru Business Centre where the accused told Chanda that she could find 2016 intake placement for Patience Muvimbi (Chanda`s daughter) at Morgenster Teachers College.
On January 17, the accused phoned the complainant telling her that her daughter had found placement at the institution and $598 was needed urgently.
The following day, Chanda sent $500 to Shoko through Eco cash.
On the very day Chanda then sent $98 which was the remaining balance.
According to the court, nothing was recovered from Shoko.
