The government has been urged to craft laws that protect whistle blowers and witnesses in high profile corruption cases.

High profile and corruption cases remain difficult to prosecute due to a number of reasons ranging from fear and interference.

The problem has affected the fight against corruption which continues to affect the country's economic activities.

Anti-corruption activist Dumisani Mtombeni says there is need for a legal frame work to protect vulnerable witnesses and whistle blowers, especially when handling high profile cases.

Mt Mtombeni says there must be political will and legal backing to fight the scourge.

Despite the country having the anti-corruption commission, nothing much has been done to prosecute high profile corruption cases and the cancer continues unabated.
