Chief Matupula in Tsholotsho has written a communique to his subjects local and abroad asking them to contribute towards the development of the area indicating that since they were brought up by the same area they must plough back to it.
In a letter dated December 23 2016 seen by Bulawayo 24 Mathuphula asked for team work among all subjects and community members.
"Thanks to this opportunity that we discuss and thanks to the life the Lord has given you on the road to the year 2017. I hereby write to all Matupula people outside the country, in urban Zimbabwe, South Africa, Botswana and some of the neighboring countries, some beyond the seas," he wrote.
"We've met as Matupula and realised that our area needs good people. When you grew up here this area educated you, gave you hospitals, boreholes for water and peaceful life," he wrote. 'we noticed that there is no development to our youth. Because of that the development and progress is in our hands. We talked about schools, clinics, infrastructure which needs input. We also ask all homesteads to have toilets."
He thanked those in South Africa who are from ward 6 who bought a generator and and engine to pump water at the dip tank.
"This is a good example of assistance to develop the area. We want children to be educated so that we have development in the area," he said.
He also pleaded with community members to assist each other in terms of sending children to school through payment of fees and uniforms.
He also urged the villagers to work hard in their fields as the rains fall and to unity in all programmes.
