SURPRISE!
When Season Sibanda and his wife Consilia Dube retired to bed they found a dead, bloodied owl in their hut on Saturday evening.
The couple from Jahana village under Chief Njelele in Gokwe believes someone is out to bewitch them.
But why? Sibanda wonders.
"What would anyone want from a poor man like me? I do not have anything that anyone would envy and I survive on menial jobs like working in people's fields with my wife," he said.
After seeing the creepy lifeless creature associated with the underworld of sorcery, Sibanda called neighbours and a local healer for assistance.
"I called my neighbours and a local healer who helped us remove it. We asked him to keep it because we want to get to the bottom of this incident. I will not rest until I find out who placed it there and what their intention was," he said.
Chief Njelele confirmed the incident.
"A certain couple found a dead owl that was covered in blood in their bedroom. They however, chose to deal with the incident as a family and not involve the whole village," said Chief Njelele.
