FLOYD Mayweather fights for hundreds of thousands of dollars with other men but one Patron Ndlovu (36) gave his best when he beat up his wife over $5.
A food tray landed on his wife Bridget Nkomo's face causing harm and to avoid danger she fled to a neighbour's house but Ndlovu followed.
When he caught up with her he unleashed a series of punches with no intention of stopping. Had it not been for the neighbour, there's no telling how far he could have gone.
"He picked up a tray that he used to hit me on the face and I sustained a swollen eye and started bleeding from the nose. I ran to my neighbours' house but he followed and punched me until my neighbour intervened and restrained him," Nkomo retold the story in front of Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya.
Ndlovu who was facing a domestic violence charge didn't dispute the accusations. He however, blamed alcohol for his actions.
"It was not my intention to hurt my wife, she is the one who started by biting me on the butt and out of anger I hit her. I was drunk. Please forgive me," he pleaded.
The court heard that Ndlovu went to drink with his friends and on his return asked his wife about a $5 note he had allegedly left with her. But Nkomo told him that there's no money he left behind with her. Out of anger Ndlovu beat her up.
Luckily for him, Nkomo withdrew the case before plea but that didn't stop the magistrate from issuing a stern warning.
