The factional fights in ZANU PF have claimed the scalp of Herald Editor Joram Nyathi who was accused of undermining the President by covering his return from the recent EuroAsia trip on page 2.

Nyathi is a victim of the faction led by Presidential Spokesperson George Charamba which wants to reinstate Editor at large Caesar Zvayi.

Charamba's faction is allegedly fighting to regain control of state media and they've been plotting for many weeks and they used the Mnangagwa  story as excuse to make the final push.

Writing on Twitter yesterday Mnangagwa loyalist Mayor Justice Wadyajena said, "His Excellency, President Mnangagwa's return only makes Page 2? Something cooking over at Herald. It will all end with a lot of egg on some faces. What's going on Cdes Nick Mangwana , Energy Mutodi and where are you Editor at Large Caesar Zvayi?"

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is reported to be involved in a plot to oust President Mnangagwa through impeachment in parliament.

Last year we reported that the two seasoned journalists Caesar Zvayi and Mabasa Sasa were removed from their posts because they were deemed hostile to the Minister of information Monica Mutsvanga and Permanent Secretary Nick Mangwana. Zvayi.

Mutsvangwa and Mangwana are reportedly involved in a power struggle with Deputy minister Energy Mutodi who belongs to the same faction with Charamba.

"The power wrangle has been brewing for some time and Minister Mutsvangwa flexing her muscle through the Zimpapers editorial changes sending a signal to Mutodi and his allies at Zimpapers a strong message," a  source reported.
