There was drama in Mvurwi when a team of detectives were locked in a room by a suspected ZANU PF youth leader at a place they were searching dagga suspects.
The matter came to light at Guruve magistrates courts on Tuesday where Kudzai Godfrey Nyandoro (29) pleaded not guilt to the charge before magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa.
The state led by Albert Charewa alleged on September 6 a team of detectives pounced on Nyandoro's homestead where they were searching for Nyandoro's accomplices who were in drug peddling.
Nyandoro managed to lock the cops inside his room accusing them of making Zimbabweans suffer.
He further claimed that he was a ZANU PF youth leader who was well connected and the police officers who were on the mission of arresting drug peddlers would not succeed.
The locked cops managed to call for reinforcement and a group of police officers came and arrested Nyandoro.
He was remanded in custody to September 21.
