Edgars CEO controversially booted out

EDGARS Stores Limited has announced the resignation of its group chief executive officer, Ms Tjeludo Ndlovu, effective tomorrow, Tuesday. The company's Group Chief Finance Officer, Ms Happiness Vundla, is also stepping down.

The board of the clothing firm expressed gratitude for Ms Ndlovu's 11 years of service within the group, with her leadership commencing in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. They wished her well in her new endeavor.

Mr. Sevious Mushosho will take over as the Group Chief Executive Officer effective November 1. Mr. Mushosho is a Fellow Chartered Accountant Zimbabwe with over 20 years of multinational experience in various sectors, including management, financial management, audit, insurance, banking, retail, and distribution. He has held executive positions in companies in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Mauritius, and more.

Mr. Mushosho had been serving as a Non-Executive Director on the board since July 2022 and took on the role of Group Chief Operating Officer in May 2023.

The board expressed its appreciation for Ms Vundla's contributions during her time with the group.

Additionally, Mr. Peter Mnyama has been appointed as Executive Director- Retail Chains. With over 25 years of experience in fashion retail, Mr. Mnyama started his career with the Group in 1998 as a Merchandise Trainee. He has since held various roles within the organization, including Managing Director for the Edgars Chain. He holds a BCom Honours degree in Marketing and has received several Planning and Management Development qualifications.
