Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu has chosen to remain tight-lipped on widespread reports that key players Peter Muduhwa and Lynoth Chikuhwa could leave the club.
Speaking ahead of Highlanders' Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season finale against Yadah Stars at Barbourfields Stadium this Sunday, Kaindu admitted the uncertainty surrounding player movements at the end of a season.
"Of course, when you're heading towards the end of the season, there are many rumours. Sometimes it's true, we can't run away from that, and we must prepare for it. As a coach, it's difficult to comment on things I don't have facts on," Kaindu said.
"For now, I'll leave it as rumours, but there's no smoke without fire. As a club, we are yet to receive any formal letter regarding the two players."
Speculations and Key Performances

Sources suggest Muduhwa and Chikuhwa have already sealed moves to Scotland FC, where they will join Zimbabwean players Denver Mukamba, King Nadolo, Cleopas Dube, and former Highlanders teammate McClive Phiri.

Muduhwa, a stalwart in Highlanders' defense since 2016, has been a cornerstone of the team's backline. Meanwhile, Chikuhwa has had a stellar season, scoring 16 goals and positioning himself as the favourite for the Golden Boot award.

Kaindu heaped praise on Chikuhwa's resurgence, stating: "If there's one thing we've managed to do, it's to see Chikuhwa score those 16 goals. He's been outstanding, giving us crucial goals. Not many gave him a chance, but he worked on his confidence and delivered. We believed in him, and he hasn't disappointed."
