Relatives of Parirenyatwa's memory loss patient found

A man admitted to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals after a road accident has been reunited with his family, following a public appeal to identify him.

The man, who was brought to the hospital by police without any identification, was unable to recall his identity or the circumstances of the accident due to memory loss caused by his injuries.

On November 26, 2024, the hospital issued a public appeal for assistance in identifying the patient. Two days later, on November 28, the hospital confirmed that his relatives had been located, thanks to public participation.

"Following our notice we put on the 26th of November 2024, Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals would like to thank members of the public that participated in the search for identity for the above unknown patient. We are glad to let you know that we have found his relatives and we thank you for spreading the word as you did," the hospital stated.

The hospital expressed gratitude to everyone who helped share the appeal, underscoring the vital role of community involvement in such cases.

This incident highlights the importance of public collaboration and the hospital's commitment to ensuring the well-being of unidentified patients.
