In a touching gesture of goodwill during the festive season, Finance, Economic Development, and Investment Promotion Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube, brought joy and relief to struggling families by donating food hampers in Bulawayo and Matobo District.

Through his Mthuli Ncube Foundation, the initiative aimed to ease the financial burden on vulnerable households, ensuring they have essentials as Christmas approaches.

In Bulawayo's Mzilikazi suburb, Prof Ncube personally handed out food hampers containing mealie-meal, cooking oil, beans, and personal care products. Speaking during the event, he emphasized the spirit of giving during this time of year.

"This is a time for giving, and we want to ensure that no family goes without food this Christmas," he said.

The gesture was met with gratitude from recipients who expressed relief at the support amid ongoing economic challenges that have made affording basic necessities difficult.

In Matobo District, Prof Ncube donated 1,000 bags of mealie-meal, highlighting the importance of community solidarity. He urged residents to support one another, particularly during tough times.

Villagers praised the minister not only for the donations but for personally engaging with them. "It is nice and reassuring to see our leaders come down to our level and show they care," remarked one villager.

This latest act of generosity follows similar efforts by the Mthuli Ncube Foundation. Last month, in collaboration with the non-governmental organization Tzu Chi Zimbabwe, the foundation donated 10,000 tonnes of rice to Cowdray Park residents.

Additionally, Prof Ncube has shown a commitment to transforming Cowdray Park into a vibrant urban hub. He pledged to install WiFi at Cowdray Park Secondary School and donate books to its library, enhancing educational resources for students in the area.

The Mthuli Ncube Foundation continues to embody the spirit of giving and community upliftment, offering not just material support but hope and connection to those in need.
