The Ministry of Industry and Commerce today welcomed a high-profile South African delegation representing the African Association of Automotive Manufacturers (AAAM) and the Motor Industry Association of Zimbabwe (MIAZ), as part of an effort to assess the needs of Zimbabwe's automotive sector and explore potential investment opportunities.
In a statement posted on X, the ministry described the visit as a strategic opportunity for Zimbabwe's local industry to establish crucial partnerships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), many of whom are members of the AAAM.

Industry and Commerce Minister Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndhlovu received the delegation today, marking the beginning of crucial discussions on expanding Zimbabwe's automotive industry. "As part of the discussions, the parties addressed the need to conduct a needs assessment and explore investment opportunities within the local automotive industry," the ministry's statement noted.
