Seventeen-time Grammy Award winner and gospel music legend Cece Winans is set to perform live at the Celebration Centre in Harare on August 26, promising an unforgettable night of praise and worship.

Widely regarded as the world's most decorated and best-selling female gospel artist, Winans holds the record for the most Grammy Awards won by a female gospel singer. Her impressive trophy cabinet also includes 31 GMA Dove Awards, 16 Stellar Awards, seven NAACP Awards, and four Billboard Music Awards.

The American gospel queen, a close friend of the late Whitney Houston, even performed at Houston's funeral, further cementing her legacy within the music and gospel community. In recognition of her stellar career, Winans has been inducted into the Black Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The upcoming event in Harare is being organized by Events by GEC, a company renowned for delivering world-class gospel experiences in Zimbabwe. Their past productions include the Kingdom World Tour featuring Maverick City Music and February's Young and Chosen Tour with Limoblaze and Joe L Barnes.

Pastor Lincolyn Kapswara of Events by GEC shared his excitement about the concert:

"On the 26th of August 2025, at the Celebration Centre, we will be hosting a woman who needs no introduction. She is one of the most accomplished and celebrated women in modern music history. She is a best seller and has accumulated 17 Grammys, 31 Dove Awards, 16 Stellar Awards, and much more!

"She is a pioneer, passionate worshipper, devout Christian, and currently pastors Nashville Life Church with her husband Alvin Love.

"Celebrate Mother's Day with an incredible gift of worship! With a mix of international star power and homegrown talent, the Omemma Tour is poised to be one of Zimbabwe's most uplifting gospel events of the year."

The full line-up of artists for the night is yet to be announced, but expectations are high following the huge success of the previous Events by GEC show, which went ahead despite heavy rains.

Fans and gospel music lovers are encouraged to mark their calendars for what promises to be a spiritually enriching and musically inspiring evening with one of gospel music's greatest icons.
