A security manager at Catercraft Private Limited stationed at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport appeared in court last week facing charges of criminal insult for allegedly verbally abusing a junior female colleague.
Tobias Mapanda was remanded out of custody to January 22 by Epworth Circuit Court Magistrate Ethel Chichera.
According to the court, the incident occurred in October 2025 when the complainant, 29-year-old Gracious Rutendo Munyaradzi, was performing her security duties in the guard room while wearing her own three-piece suit rather than the company uniform.
It is alleged that Mapanda entered the room, confronted Munyaradzi about her attire, and insulted her by saying, "You are a prostitute; you are looking for men."
Munyaradzi reportedly felt humiliated and degraded by the remarks, prompting her to report the incident to the police, which led to Mapanda's arrest.
The case highlights growing concerns over workplace conduct and the treatment of female employees in security and corporate environments.
