Mahachi appointed Head of Business Development at Dangote Industries

Zimbabwean multimedia journalist and investment facilitator Josephine Mahachi has been appointed Head of Business Development at Dangote Industries' new offices in Harare. Mahachi, known for her work with German international broadcaster Deutsche Welle and the television show Click Africa, which highlighted African pride and narratives across the continent, played a key role in facilitating Dangote's investment in Zimbabwe.

The move comes as Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote expands his US$1 billion investment in the country, focusing on cement production, power generation, and infrastructure projects, including an oil pipeline. Dangote signed the investment agreement in November last year with President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the Zimbabwean government. The deal was financially advised by Bard Santner Inc., led by banking executive Senziwani Sikhosana. Mahachi's appointment is expected to strengthen Dangote Industries' local operations and business development initiatives in Zimbabwe.
