Retired Brigadier General Mpabanga dies

The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) is mourning the loss of Brigadier General (Retired) Samuel Mpabanga, a veteran officer who dedicated decades of service to the nation.

Known by his Chimurenga name, Moffat Nkomo, Brig-Gen Mpabanga passed away on Monday at Gwanda General Hospital after a prolonged illness. He was 69 years old.

In a statement, ZNA Commander Lieutenant General Asher Walter Tapfumaneyi expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences on behalf of the entire military community.

Mourners have gathered at House Number 4, McGee Road, Sauerstown in Bulawayo, as funeral arrangements are awaited.

Brig-Gen Mpabanga is remembered as a distinguished soldier and leader whose contributions to Zimbabwe's military and national service left a lasting legacy.
