Maid wrecks marriage

Medical students at Mashoko School of Nursing were recently left stunned after a divorced woman stormed the institution, demanding to confront her former housemaid over allegations that she ruined her marriage.
Ruvimbo Muringayi reportedly confronted school officials after discovering what she described as an illicit relationship between her ex-husband, Munashe Gumunyu (39), and Prisca Dembe (25), her former domestic worker.
Ruvimbo and Munashe's 13-year marriage reportedly collapsed amid the allegations, which centre on events that allegedly began while Prisca was employed as a maid in their home.
She accused Prisca of having an affair with her husband during her five-month stay at their residence.
It is alleged that Munashe later rented a separate room where he would meet Prisca, further deepening the conflict that ultimately led to the breakdown of the marriage.
Prisca later applied and was accepted to study nursing at Mashoko School of Nursing after leaving her employment.
The situation escalated when Ruvimbo travelled from Harare to Bikita District, where the institution is located, and confronted school authorities, causing a scene on campus.
Prisca confirmed that a relationship existed and said the incident forced her to apologise to Ruvimbo in front of lecturers.
"I was shocked to see Ruvimbo at our school. I felt as if I was naked," she said.
She added that she was advised by a staff member to apologise, after which the situation calmed down.
Prisca also alleged that Ruvimbo was expecting her third child when she began working for the couple and claimed there had been domestic conflict in the household.
"At one time, there was even domestic violence at their home—Munashe once slept in the garage," she said.
She further claimed that Munashe had bought her a cellphone, and that the relationship later developed from there.
Prisca said she later discovered that Munashe had cancelled their marriage certificate.
"I regret dating a married man. It was childish and a lack of guidance. I now regret it deeply," she said, adding that she had since received counselling from church elders and family members.
She claimed Munashe later took back the cellphone he had given her and had been contacting her friends.
Munashe, in a statement to H-Metro, confirmed the affair allegations but described the incident as a "moment of madness," suggesting emotional factors influenced the situation.
"My wife learnt about it when I posted Prisca's photograph on my profile picture," he said.
Ruvimbo also admitted confronting the institution, saying she acted after receiving messages that deeply affected her emotionally.
She said she travelled to the school after being informed of the alleged relationship and confronted officials following the distressing communication.
