Scottland and Herentals recorded crucial victories on Sunday to deepen the congestion at the top of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, where four teams are now locked on 28 points.

Scottland produced a commanding 2–0 win over CAPS United at the National Sports Stadium, with Khama Billiat creating the opener for Knowledge Musona before Panashe Mutimbanyoka doubled the lead before halftime.

The match, which formed part of a Sports and Recreation Commission and Sports Ministry assessment of the renovated National Sports Stadium, was used to test facilities as the venue continues upgrades aimed at meeting FIFA standards.

The victory lifted Scottland to 28 points, drawing them level with CAPS United, Herentals and Hardrock in a tightly packed title race.

Herentals also kept pace with a valuable 1–0 away win over FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium. Liyeto Dreamer scored the decisive goal after a defensive error by Nickson Nyasulu, whose misdirected clearance allowed Dreamer to finish calmly past goalkeeper Raphael Pitisi.

Elsewhere, Highlanders continued their push towards the summit with a 2–1 victory over Hunters at Barbourfields Stadium. Marvin Sibanda opened the scoring in the second minute from an Andrew Mbeba free-kick, before Benjamin Adeogun doubled the advantage in the 63rd minute.

Hunters pulled one back in stoppage time through Eli Elunga, but Highlanders held firm to secure all three points.

The win leaves Highlanders on 22 points, six behind the leading pack, as the title race continues to tighten heading into the next round of fixtures.
