A 39-year-old Eastview woman, Judith Ruzvidzo, has appeared before the Harare Magistrates' Court facing fraud charges after she allegedly duped five aspiring nurses and nurse aides out of US$3 000 by falsely promising them training placements at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.

Ruzvidzo was remanded in custody and is expected back in court on June 23, 2026, as police investigations continue.

The State alleges that in February 2026, Ruzvidzo approached one of the complainants - reportedly a friend - claiming she could facilitate nursing training placements at the renowned Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.

She is further alleged to have encouraged the complainant to recruit other candidates interested in nursing and nurse aide opportunities, expanding the pool of victims.

According to court papers, on February 15, 2026, at around midday, the complainant met Ruzvidzo at her Eastview residence in the company of Agnes Juma, where the alleged transactions took place.

The five complainants are said to have each paid US$600, bringing the total amount handed over to US$3 000. Ruzvidzo allegedly assured them that she would secure the training placements by May 15, 2026.

However, when the candidates began following up the next day, she allegedly became unreachable, with her mobile phone going unanswered.

The complainants later compared notes and allegedly discovered that each had paid the same amount under similar promises, leading them to suspect they had been defrauded.

The matter was subsequently reported to police, prompting investigations that led to her arrest.

Zimbabwe Republic Police detectives reportedly arrested Ruzvidzo on May 27, 2026, at around 2pm at her Eastview residence.

The case is now before the courts, with the accused awaiting further proceedings while investigations continue.
