Man dies after drinking deadly 'sex booster'

A 38-year-old man from Muedzengwa Village under Chief Marange has died after allegedly consuming an unverified herbal concoction believed to enhance sexual performance.
The deceased, Christopher Mutindori, reportedly drank the herbal mixture on July 4 after he and his friend, Pardon Mutema, 35, sought a sexual enhancement concoction from self-proclaimed herbalist Robert Maphosa, 45.
According to reports, the two men approached Maphosa requesting a herbal mixture purported to improve sexual performance.
Shortly after consuming the concoction, Mutindori allegedly began complaining of weakness before collapsing. He died at the scene.
Police from Zimbabwe Republic Police attended the scene, and Mutindori's body was taken to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the incident and urged members of the public to avoid consuming unverified herbal remedies.
"We urge members of the public not to consume concoctions whose contents and safety are unknown. People should only use medicines and herbal products that have been properly verified, as taking untested substances can have fatal consequences," Chinyoka said.
Police have not indicated whether any arrests have been made as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death continue.
