ZNA announces equipment procession ahead of ZDF day

The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) has announced a procession of military equipment and personnel in Harare as part of preparations for the 2026 Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) Day celebrations.
In a statement, Director Army Public Relations Colonel Hlengiwe Dube said the procession will take place from August 9 to 11, 2026, as the country prepares for the main ZDF Day commemorations.
The procession will start at Charles Gumbo Barracks and proceed towards Rufaro Stadium, where the main celebrations will be held on Tuesday.
According to the ZNA, the procession will leave Charles Gumbo Barracks and travel along Airport Road before turning into Dieppe Avenue.
It will then proceed along Crisps Road before turning into Remembrance Drive, which leads to Rufaro Stadium.
Colonel Dube urged members of the public not to panic when they encounter military personnel and equipment along the designated route.
She encouraged Zimbabweans to view the procession as part of the country's annual defence forces commemorations and join in the celebrations.
The annual ZDF Day commemorations bring together members of the security services, government officials and members of the public to recognise the role of the defence forces.
While the main celebrations will take place at Rufaro Stadium in Harare, provincial commemorations are also scheduled to be held across the country.
The procession is expected to form part of the activities leading up to Tuesday's national celebrations.
