SCOTLAND FC benefactor Wicknell Chivayo has expressed his displeasure with veteran forward Knowledge Musona after the player appeared to snub coach Norman Mapeza's handshake following his substitution against FC Platinum on Wednesday.

Musona was taken off in the 53rd minute during the goalless Premier Soccer League encounter at Rufaro Stadium. Footage of the incident later went viral on social media, drawing attention to the forward's reaction as he walked towards the dressing room without acknowledging the coach.

Addressing the Scotland FC players during a phone call on Thursday evening, Chivayo warned the squad against showing disrespect towards the club's technical team.

He singled out Musona's conduct and stressed that discipline and respect for the coaching staff were non-negotiable.

"Another important thing amongst players is discipline.

"If you don't respect the coach, you are not respecting me, the sponsor, and you are not respecting the club.

"The behaviour which I saw, of people just walking off the pitch without even shaking hands with the coach as a demonstration, I will not tolerate that nonsense," Chivayo said.

Chivayo was speaking to the players during a dinner held in Harare as Scotland FC prepares for its maiden CAF Champions League campaign.

The Zimbabwean club will begin its continental campaign on Sunday when it takes on Eswatini side Nsingizini FC at the National Sports Stadium.

Scotland FC qualified for the CAF Champions League after an impressive domestic campaign and will be hoping to carry that form into its first appearance in Africa's premier club competition.

Chivayo has further incentivised the team by pledging a US$50,000 winning bonus for every CAF Champions League match Scotland FC wins.
