Zimbabwe has donated 10 tonnes of food supplies to communities in Botswana's drought-prone Bobirwa District, in a gesture highlighting cooperation and solidarity between the two neighbouring countries.

The assistance was delivered to Mophato Volunteers in Bobirwa through ZimAid, Zimbabwe's foreign assistance programme.

ZimAid operates under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and works in collaboration with the Civil Protection Unit and private-sector partners to provide humanitarian assistance where it is needed.

The donation is expected to support vulnerable communities in Bobirwa, which has been affected by recurring drought conditions and food insecurity.

The initiative also underscores the longstanding ties between Zimbabwe and Botswana, with the two neighbouring countries regularly cooperating on humanitarian and regional issues.
