FC Platinum have confirmed the departure of former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana midfielder Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane, who has left his assistant coaching role to take up a head coaching position in Botswana.
Letsholonyane joined FC Platinum alongside head coach Thabo Senong at the end of July. His departure comes after a brief spell with the Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League side, having previously worked with Botswana club Matebele FC during the 2025/26 season.
The former midfielder had reportedly remained a target for several clubs in Botswana and will now return to the country, although his new club has not yet been disclosed.
FC Platinum have appointed former Zimbabwe international and ex-Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United defender Onismor Bhasera as Letsholonyane's replacement.
Bhasera was most recently part of the technical team at Siwelele FC, where he served as an assistant coach before leaving the club at the start of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.
In a statement released on Wednesday, FC Platinum general manager Collen Nikisi confirmed Letsholonyane's departure and Bhasera's appointment.
The club said Bhasera's experience from both his playing and coaching career would strengthen the technical team as FC Platinum seek to develop their players and remain competitive.
"His experience, leadership and understanding of the game will add valuable depth to our technical team as we continue to strengthen the Club and build for the future," the club said.
Bhasera will work alongside Senong as part of a technical team tasked with developing players, strengthening the squad and maintaining FC Platinum's challenge for honours.
The club thanked Letsholonyane for his contribution, professionalism and commitment during his time at the club and wished him success in his new role in Botswana.
FC Platinum also welcomed Bhasera to the club, saying his experience and energy would be valuable as they continue their pursuit of success.
"The journey continues. The ambition remains the same, to compete for honours," the club said.
