The trial of imprisoned RMG Independent End Time Message church founder, Robert Martin Gumbura who is jointly charged with his secretary, Tendai Ganyani in fresh rape charges has been deferred to Wednesday.

Gumbura is facing fresh charges together with Ganyani on allegations of raping a 29 year old woman in 2009 who is now residing in South Africa.

The state's witness, who is also the complainant's father said he was advised by Gumbura, who was the family pastor, to look for dependable guardians for his children when his wife had died in 2005.

It is further alleged that Gumbura four years later adopted the child according to the beliefs of the church.

Now being the guardian of the girl, the jailed Gumbura is alleged to have connived with Ganyani and asked the complainant to visit his office.

Upon entering the office, Ganyani left the room and locked the door from outside, leaving the complainant in Gumbura's company.

Gumbura allegedly begged the woman to have sex with him and when she refused, he raped her.

After the incident, Gumbura is alleged to have phoned Ganyani to return to the office and unlock the door.

The woman did not report the matter to anyone as Gumbura threatened to curse her and place her in Satan's hands.

The woman only reported the matter to police on 18 March 2013 after she had left Gumbura's church.

Gumbura is serving a 40 year prison term after being convicted of raping some female congregants.
