A social movement calling it self Zimbabwe Yadzoka / Mayibuye iZimbabwe has launched a campaign against the ruling Zanu PF in the areas where the party has strongholds to alert people to vote against the party in the 2018 elections.
In a video posted on Facebook the leader of the group Victor Chimhunu said most of the social movements concentrate in urban areas and overlooks the fact that Zanu PF strong holds are in rural areas.
He said as a result his group is targeting the rural areas to make people aware of the ills of voting for Zanu PF which has run down the country threatening the livelihoods of the current and future generations.
The group is saying President Robert Mugabe can only be removed by the masses who are living in abject poverty.
"The middle classes will complain behind closed doors but will not take action for fear of losing what they have.
"Mugabe is aware of this and will always allow corruption as long as it empowers the government whilst allowing a few slices to fall to the middle class.
"This strategy may fail if the global community do not offer funding. This is why I support Zimbabwe Yadzoka a grass roots movement that is spending its resources in building this movement," reads the group's post.
