Four drug addicts, two of which are high school teachers were caught smoking the cannabis (mbanje) at Mudhindo Business Centre yesterday (Monday).
It is alleged two teachers at Chifamba High School in Mudhindo Guruve Clifford Mutimba (30) and Sauti Beneti (26) together with their colleagues Mukundwa Tapiwa and Samuel Muringazuva were caught smoking mbanje in a hardware shop at around 3pm.
The two high school teachers are in police custody and have missed today's lessons assisting police with investigations.
Parents who spoke to Bulawayo24.com expressed their disappointment over the issue as they have entrusted teachers with the responsibility of grooming their children to become model citizens.
"Surely how can a teacher be involved in such dirty deeds they ought to be ashamed of themselves we put our trust in them and teachers should be exemplary," fumed the parent.
Meanwhile, cases of drug abuse are on the increase in Zimbabwe as the rate of unemployment continues to skyrocket.
