A Zapu cadre mercilessly 'tortured' by Mpofu left permanently disabled

The revelations on Southern Eye on 10th November 2014 that Obert Mpofu (the one who kneels before Mugabe and also signs 'your obedient son') instructed his security guards to torture a Zapu cadre Lifas Sibanda for attending a Zapu rally in July 2014 leaving him permanently disabled is beyond human belief and civilization. 

Zapu condemns this behavior as an act of terrorism, barbarism, savagery and self-gratification.  This is a sign of a man who has lost his moral compass and values if he ever had any in the first place.

Mpofu is constantly pre-occupied with the fear of losing power, which in actual fact he does not naturally have in the first place. His fear is a result of anticipated loss of power and influence; therefore the fear of being outdone takes total precedent over the importance of the welfare of others. Mpofu knows too well that his seemingly 'powerful' stature is as a result of his evil party legacy, which has ruled people against their will since 1980. Mpofu is aware that the revival of Zapu means serious business and he is no longer going to take people for granted anymore.

Just like his god father, the obedient son's behavior has become so entrenched in the negative so much so that his reactions when he feels threatened are automatically violent. It has become his practiced behavior for dealing with any challenge. Mpofu felt challenged by the good deeds of one man, who stood up for his convictions and chose to follow his conscience by sticking with the Party he loves.  The impulsive and erratic behavior by Mpofu through his henchmen is a sure sign of a man who lacks self-belief, a man whose ideological leaning is thread-bare when it comes to human considerations. It is no wonder why Mpofu defected to ZANU at the height of the genocide. He is a coward and a man who lacks ethical and moral values. He is a man who does not value anybody else's life but his own.

Mr Mpofu's behavior does not resemble that of a leader but of a mafia gangsta.

Cde Sibanda's life was shattered for exercising his constitutional and democratic right of belonging to a Party of his choice, by a man who has no respect for human life, human dignity and human rights.
Mpofu took the law into his own hands by imposing himself as having the right to prosecute, torture, mutilate and physically decapitate another human being without remorse as his view is heavily tainted by the desire for power and material advantage.

Mpofu is not God. Mpofu is not a King either, even though he would like to believe himself to be so. He should be reminded that all God's creation in life does not always stay the same. When one ascends the ladder of power, one certainty is that they will descend in no time and they will find themselves interacting with the very people they so much despised and abused. This is a reality that Mpofu can not countenance but he has no choice the reality will soon catch up with him and all of his friends in Zanu-PF.

Mpofu is just simply an ordinary man, who is nothing without the politics of patronage and corruption. He is currently enjoying the unholy privileges given to him by the brutal and oppressive government which he has used and abused to create massive personal wealth, bad image and unscrupulous reputation for himself.

 Mr Mpofu's narcistic and vile behavior towards Mr Sibanda confirms the ideology of his Zanu-PF party whose conduct is premised on violence, brutality and oppression. A party of bullies with an unbridled propensity to maim, kill and destroy human life. For a long time ZANU has failed to change its evil ways, therefore it has to be made to stop and Zapu will stop Zanu-PF from abusing the people.

Mpofu conveniently forgot and deliberately ignored the fact that Zapu is a legal political party constituted within the constitutional and legal requirements of the land. It is within this scope that Zapu supporters and stakeholders should participate in the Party's legal activities free from intimidation and obstruction.

The prosperity, growth and progress of Zapu as a party will never be stalled by Mpofu's shooting down of its members.  The devolution dream propels even faster when challenged by aggression. Cde Lifas Sibanda's horrific  experience  inspired by dedication and  sacrifice in the quest for a democratic Zimbabwe is a reminder to all that freedom and justice is a commodity that everyone should fight to achieve. It is never free, it is never given freely on a platter like a meal.

Zapu pays tribute to the gallant deeds of Cde Sibanda and wishes him well. Zapu will ensure that his suffering at the hands of Mpofu and his coterie of hangers on is never in vain. Mpofu deserves to be shown the door and be politically banished from Matebeleland North. He should be rejected by the people. He should be totally disowned by the people for what he is, a political thugsta.

Zapu condemns in the strongest possible terms the violent behavior exhibited by Mpofu against an innocent man and extols the righteous virtues exhibited by Mr Sibanda. When the right time comes Mpofu will be made to pay for his actions, there would be no impunity for his primitive and dastard behaviour. A day of reckoning is nigh.
