The President of Mthwakazi Republic Party Mqondisi Moyo and his entourage comprising Colman Khanye National Organising Secretary and Nkanyiso Ngulube National executive member among other members visited Siganda in Bubi district through the invitation of local villagers in their campaign trail.
The villagers wanted the party to seize the opportunity to meet villagers who attended to a World Malaria day commemoration.
MRP said the villagers invited the party leadership so that they interface with locals who came from the following villages, Siganda, Nkosikazi,Majiji, Mbembeswana, Lukala, Dakamela, Dulutsha, Hawuke, Isabella and other surrounding areas.
"The party took the opportunity to talk to the people as well as distributing thousands of party literature. More than 2000 villagers attended the event. Majiji secondary school sang the national anthem in both Isindebele and Shona, they also recited the satanic national pledge," said MRP.
"Clifford Sibanda member of parliament for Bubi constituency ZANU PF, addressed the villagers, he announced that since his election to become the MP of the area he managed to facilitate for 26 children for scholarship program in Bubi constituency compared to one in 2008. These students he said all went to SA Universities. Villagers told MRP leadership that the MP is a failure and a liar, who has not come back to the constituency ever since he was elected .They last saw him during his campaigns during the 2013 elections."
The villagers said they are not happy because the locals are not given first preferences in employment opportunities especially considering that Bubi is blessed with natural resources such as Gold.
"The villagers who spoke to the MRP leadership were very much delighted to see the leaders and here about the gospel of Restoration agenda which they concurred could be the only way to give hope and life to the people of Mthwakazi, they vowed that they will not vote for ZANU, MDC T and NPP for Mujuru or any other party led from Mashonaland, and they declared enough is enough," said MRP.
"There are two bridges which were damaged during rain season. Which the villagers complained that the ZANU PF government together with its local representatives have failed them since they dont care to repair since January. The damaged bridges are Donga Dilika Dam Bridge and Mukoratata bridge respectively."
"Villagers called on the party to come and address them in a proper rally and they promised to come in numbers and give support to the party of the people and they were quick to say kudala sisizwa ngani sizibuza ukuthi kanti lizaze lifike nini."
MRP President assured villagers that now is the time, the Revolutionary people's party will leave no stone unturned as we persue our independence.
Moyo assured villagers that MRP will protect their jobs, land, natural resources, as well as their culture.
The President also thanked the Siganda community for receiving us well. People said they are now tired of Harare and now want self-determination. MRP is set to hold a campaign rally in Bubi constituency soon.
