Mnangagwa arrives in Durban for SADC Summit

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has arrived in Durban, South Africa, ahead of the 46th Ordinary Summit of SADC Heads of State and Government scheduled for tomorrow.
The summit, hosted by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa at the International Convention Centre, will be held under the theme: "Resilient, Sustainable and Inclusive Industrialisation through Infrastructure Development, Agricultural and Critical Minerals Transformation in Pursuit of a Just World."
The meeting brings together leaders from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) to deliberate on regional economic development, integration and other matters affecting the bloc.
South Africa formally assumed the chairship of SADC last Wednesday, following its tenure as interim chair since November 2025.
The country will hold the chairmanship until August 2027.
President Mnangagwa is accompanied by Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Martin Rushwaya and Deputy Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet George Charamba.
The summit is expected to provide an opportunity for regional leaders to assess progress on SADC's development priorities and strengthen cooperation on issues including infrastructure, agriculture, industrialisation and critical minerals.
