Zanu-PF misrule has an impact on future generations
08 Nov 2016 at 09:28hrs | Views
Zimbabwe s crisis has reached unprecedented levels without putting into consideration the future generations of this country. We have a system that is ignorant to people s plight and which does not even care a single minute because they are busy lining up their pockets at the expense of this nation. As we speak we have serious cash crisis and business has been brought to halt. We have national leadership which thrive on dictatorship and arrogance and will never listen to people s concerns.
CORRUPTION
How much has been looted since Zanu PF misrule? We have a record of 17.7 billion in corruption alone. Since Zanu PF came into power there is nothing good they have done to the nation except looting national coffers and engaging themselves in inhuman things. Recently we have net-one saga where Kangai looted more than 4 million united states dollar, we have Mandiwanzira doing the same, looting $200 000 from POTRAZ, we have Wicknel Chivhayo getting a payout of $5 million without a bank guarantor. How do you expect this country to move which such kind of corruption. We have cases at ZIMDEF were Jonathan Moyo looted more than 1 million united states dollars for personal use. ZIMDEF funds are meant for development and empowerment of the future generation but only one person who is untouchable benefited from the looting spree.
HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT RATE
As we speak industry has literally collapsed. The unemployment rate in Zimbabwe has reached 96.5% due to a number of factors. More companies are facing closure due to financial and economic environment matters. Most of our youths have resorted to vending and criminal activities in order to earn a living. This year alone we had over 22 000 graduates from different universities country wide and of all these only 0.7% will be absorbed in the system. Zanu PF pretends as if everything is normal and they don't even care so long they have won the elections. Their children are studying abroad with good lavish style, with decent food and accommodation whilst the whole nation is languishing in poverty.
LAND QUESTION
According to the constitution of Zimbabwe land belongs to the state through municipalities. A decision to buy or sell land is not a one man issue, neither it's a party matter but it's a collective matter for national interest sake. As we speak the embattled PHD leader has dubbed the state by claiming to have bought land from the Government without seeking approval from the council which deal with land matters. Kasukuwere was busy dishing land in a corrupt manner without considering the plight of young and potential young people. The same Kasukuwere was dishing out land to voters in Norton to buy votes. It's very clear in the charter that when people are conducting elections it's not allowed to buy votes using resources. Zanu PF does the opposite; the new charter has never been followed. Everything has been vandalized, so what is the future generation going to do? Whether one is an MDC-T, ZANU, MAVAMBO, PEOPLE FIRST ETC, everyone has a basic right to decent land for accommodation. Dishing out Government resources in a partisan way is a clear indication that we have a national crisis of legitimacy which needs to be resolved with a national transitional authority.
DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL DEBT
Our image has been dented because of the way we conduct our business. This rogue regime has been in place for 36 years, it completely vandalized everything including our international relations with foreign donors and partners who should be bailing out this ailing nation. Our economy is in the intensive care unit. We owe international creditors. We owe foreign creditors 7 billion. We had a Brazil project for Agriculture inputs and mechanization, all the proceeds were dished out in a partisan manner. Who will then clear these international debts? Zanu PF has created a serious structural gap in our public finances and we have a deep hole which is difficult to close. Our future has been ruined.
HONEST PART
Without fear or favour Zimbabwe is on its knees. The little we have including minerals, infrastructure has been destroyed. In short the future generations of this country have nothing in their hands, and we are going to die paupers. What then it means with this kind of looting spree we have, 90% of this country will be reduced to beggars and destitutes with nothing.
