Editor,
Marvo Stationery is practising slave trade in Zimbabwe surprisingly nobody seem to care about the plight of poor workers who have gone FOR 18 months without pay and in the next few days it will be 19 months still no pay.
It is as if its normal the Company is fully operational goods are being produced in addition to tonnes and tonnes of finished goods being imported from South Africa but workers are not getting anything.
Marvo workers managed to win their case at the High Court last month and the Company was given 21 days to settle the workers or the services of the High Court sheriff will be needed to help attach the company property of which that process is done still the company have not paid a cent to the suffering workers.
If by Wednesday the company fails to pay workers the property will be attached. The workers have two cases at the courts the first one which they have already won where they are now in possession of the certificate of settlement from the High Court involves back pays from 2009 up to January 2013.
The other one which already is waiting for an arbitrator involves salaries from February last year up until April this year when they went to the labour Court it was declared a deadlock.
Workers are suffering gross human rights abuses they have lost their dignity, surprisingly the government has failed to intervene in the Marvo workers issue as the workers we feel that the government is not doing anything to protect the poor workers now the issue of non-payment of workers is becoming a threat to National peace it is possible for some politicians to take advantage of the situation.
Of which it's very possible people have become desperate now working daily without pay IS NO JOKE and most cases just like the Marvo case the workers are producing and selling they know that they are making money and the management is taking advantage of the economic situation to deny workers their salaries.
Instead of the company to worry about workers' salaries they are busy perpetuating more evil as we speak Marvo has tried on many occasions to hide company properties they have hid vehicles furniture and other properties' under Browns stationery a sister company of Marvo which they now claim it has nothing to do with Marvo.
Yet that same Browns is now being ran by former Marvo directors Mr Urayayi Mazengeza and Miss T Valela sister to Marvo majority shareholder Mr M Valela the same Mazengeza is the advisor to Marvo management and a shareholder to Marvo.
Marvo and browns are sister companies since more than 50years ago, Corruption in this country has become too much as far as we are concerned these Company bosses are no longer better than Boko Haram a Nigerian terrorist outfit what's the difference they have killed destroyed people marriages, they have destroyed children future, rendered the country citizens destitute? because of greed and selfishness some of them have gusts to go to church and even go as far as SCOAN tempting GOD in the process.
Zimbabwe is enough for its citizens if not for corruption, greedy and selfishness we would be all happy and gainfully employed in this country but because there are some who don't mind to collect all the National wealth to their own use because of spirit of lust the rest of the country citizens are wallowing in poverty while the few connected individuals get everything.
Most of black people who owns companies in Zimbabwe and they are not paying workers own not less than 10 state of the art vehicles powerful houses in the splash suburbs of the country and spend most of their time in hotels while workers are suffering and they keep millions of cash in their bedrooms how can the economy survive with these kind of thugs in charge?
Marvo workers have suffered enough its high time a solution is found you wonder where they are taking all the money to. They are not paying their bills as we speak there is no running city council water at Marvo since 2011 they don't pay ZESA , they are not remitting to NSSA as required by law, even workers' pensions are being used for speculative purposes they are not remitting them yet they are the beneficiaries of DEMAF funds in addition to other bank loans.
Surprisingly the government have not made any efforts to investigate how DEMAF money was used? We believe those are public funds nobody has a right to put them to personal use.
