FALCON College will host the Zimbabwe Schools Rugby Under-19 trials today at Esigodini.
This is a culmination of a nationwide selection process that has already seen trials being held in Matabeleland, Central Province (Masvingo and Midlands), Mashonaland Country Districts (Mashonaland East and West and Manicaland) and Harare.
Six teams have already travelled to Esigodini where selectors have the daunting task of selecting a provisional squad out of 132 registered players.
This is a crucial stage for Zimbabwe Rugby Union as the selected team will participate in the annual Craven Week in South Africa.
This year's edition will be held in Polokwane at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in July.
Convener of selectors, Reg Querl, says although this is officially the final selection process, his committee will be flexible enough to accommodate any player that will step up and push for positions in the provisional squad.
"Selection is never an easy thing, it is an incredibly difficult task, it's not a one-weekend job really, but what we do is the best we can and then we give players an opportunity to step up to the plate in the weeks to come.
"We are looking for players who can do all the things we feel are required of a player in that particular position," said Querl.
