HIGHLANDERS midfielder Kuda Mahachi's French Ligue One dream with giants AS Monaco inched closer after he was granted a visa.
He will leave for the European contry after this weekend's African Cup of Nations (Afcon) match against Tanzania.
The Warriors will play Tanzania in a first round, first leg match of the 2015 Afcon qualifiers on Sunday and Mahachi is part of the team. They leave for Dar es Salaam tomorrow.
The Mamelodi Sundowns star was meant to go to France on May 12, but the trip was postponed while a number of issues which included his accommodation, were being sorted out.
Mlungisi Moyo, Mahachi's manager, said yesterday: "He will be going after the national team match. His visa has been sorted as well as his accommodation. The delay that we had was that the embassy had requested for confirmation of his accommodation and that has been processed and surrendered to them," he said.
At Sundowns, Mahachi, believed to have cost Sundowns $110 000 from Bantu Rovers will be joining fellow Zimbabweans Cuthbert Malajila, Khama Billiat, veteran Esrom Nyandoro and team manager Peter Ndlovu.
The exciting left-footed player turned out for Chicken Inn last season and was influential in the team's performance as he combined well with Tendai Ndoro, now with Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Since joining Highlanders, Mahachi has found the net twice in the PSL and has appeared in all the team's seven matches.
Other Zimbabwean players who have made it to the French leagues include Harlington Shereni who turned out for FC Nantes and Guingamp, Benjani Mwaruwari who was at Auxerre before moving to Manchester City, Ovidy Karuru who turned out for US Boulogne before moving to Belgium and Marvelous Nakamba who is at AS Nancy.
Nakamba and Mahachi both played for Bantu Rovers.
