Unilever has suspended Zimbabwe-based vice president for Southern Africa, Nancy Guzha, Southern Africa brand building director Juliet Ziswa and four other top managers amid allegations of serious corporate governance deficiencies within the company.
Some of the allegations include misappropriation of company funds and abuse of company assets.
Sources said that the company's top management allegedly used company assets to run personal errands as well as enjoying benefits outside the provisions of the group policy.
Communications manager Kudzai Makuni confirmed the suspension saying that the six had been placed on administrative leave pending internal investigations.
Speculation is rife that Unilever wants to replace the executive with expatriates from South Africa where it is importing the bulk of its commodities.
