SOUTH Sudan President, General Salva Kiir Mayradit has dispatched a special envoy to President Mugabe to brief him about the political situation between his country and the Republic of Sudan.

Information and Broadcasting Minister in South Sudan, Dr Barnaba Marial Benjamin paid a courtesy call on President Mugabe at the airport on his way to a Zanu-PF Star Rally at Somhlolo Stadium in Lupane this afternoon.

Dr Marial said the peace agreement between the two countries was under threat as the Republic of Sudan was reneging on implementing the Comprehensive Peace Agreement between the two countries.

"I have been delegated by President Salva Kiir Mayradit to bring a message to His Excellency, President Robert Mugabe to brief him about the situation between the Republic of Sudan and South Sudan with regards to the implementation of the cooperation agreement that was signed between the two countries," he said.

"There have been some hitches in implementing the terms of the agreement including issues like the oil flow, where the Republic of Sudan is threatening to close down our oil flow that passes through the territory of Sudan."
