In an incident that
left some Ramakolo ward in Serowe Botswana shell shocked a Zimbabwean
man ran amok attacking two women whom he left seriously injured.
The Voice reported that It took the intervention of some of the male neighbours to subdue the middle aged Talent Sibanda and turn him over to the police.
"One of the victims, 59 year-old Kekanetswe Pono, will spend Christmas in stitches after sustaining injuries on her face and body from the brutal attack by her wayward neighbour," The Voice reported.
Sibanda, who has since been taken for a mental examination, allegedly stormed the yard and without even greeting Pono's relatives, he grabbed her by clothes, slapped her then dragged her on the ground and kicked her with his hard boots.
"I ran and locked myself inside the house, he broke the door and dragged me outside where he beat me up for no reason," said Pono.
She said the fuming Zimbabwean attacked her together with a lactating mother of 2-month old twins. "I was not feeling well before the attack, but he worsened the pains I already had. He needs to be locked up or deported, he hurt me and even spoiled my Christmas holiday," she said.
The mother of the twins, 35 year-old Tshane Rapinyana said she was more shocked and shaken than injured from the attack. "We got rescued by neighbours who flocked our yard after hearing our screams. They managed to tie him up and called the police," said Rapinyana.
Assistant Superintendent Molefhe Patrick Molefhe of Serowe Police confirmed that they arrested the suspect and that they were investigating him for assault. "The suspect is still undergoing mental tests, but so far investigations into the matter are still ongoing," said the Station Commander.
