Glendale-based traditional healer Sekuru Nyangatayani has extended an open invitation to sangomas and Africans across Zimbabwe to attend a thanksgiving ceremony (Bira) at his shrine in Glendale tomorrow.

Fresh from representing Zimbabwe at the Chinese Expo in Hong Kong, Sekuru Nyangatayani said the event marks the beginning of an annual spiritual tradition in Mashonaland Central.

"I am back from China, and tomorrow we are hosting an all-night thanksgiving ceremony for the first time in Glendale. This is going to be an annual event," he told this publication.

He called on all sangomas and spiritually conscious Africans to attend the Bira, which he described as a sacred gathering to connect with ancestral gifts and chart a spiritual path forward.

"All sangomas are invited, and Africans should come to the Bira to meet with the ancestral gifts. We will map a way forward in the spiritual world," he said.

Sekuru Nyangatayani also revealed that traditional dishes and brews will be served throughout the night.

"This is a ceremony not to be missed. We will dish out an assorted mix of traditional foods and brew," he added.

Several prominent traditional healers have already confirmed their attendance, signalling strong support for the event within Zimbabwe's spiritual and cultural circles.
