Violent attacker on the run after stabbing 3 people in Zimbabwe

Police in Gweru have launched a manhunt for a violent attacker who allegedly stabbed three people in separate incidents at Mkoba 6 Business Centre on Thursday evening.

Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the attacks, saying the motive remains unclear and the suspect is still at large.

"The victims, Nothando Ncube (34), Oscar Matema (31), and a 13-year-old juvenile, were stabbed in separate incidents within a short distance of each other on Thursday evening," he said.

According to Insp Mahoko, the assaults appear to have been random, with no known interaction between the suspect and the victims prior to the attacks.

"Nothando Ncube and the 13-year-old are receiving treatment at Gweru Provincial Hospital, while Oscar Matema has since been discharged," he said.

Police have appealed to members of the public for information that could assist in identifying and apprehending the suspect.

"We urge anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrator to report to the nearest police station," Insp Mahoko said.

Authorities say investigations are ongoing as the community remains on high alert.
