A BATTLE-hardened war veteran shocked a Bulawayo magistrate yesterday when he exposed bite marks inflicted on him by his wife in a bid to draw sympathy from the court.

Nimrod Tosivepi pulled this stunt while opposing his wife Advella Ganyaru's application for a protection order against him.

Magistrate Marylin Mutshina heard that the couple had spent the past 10 years without sharing conjugal rights leading Tosivepi to have numerous extra marital affairs with other women.

"Your Worship this woman is equally abusive as you can see she bit me recently after I suggested we sell our matrimonial house. This woman is negligent as she allows our daughters to get away with wayward behaviour," said Tosivepi.

His wife was quick to interject and accused him of emotionally, verbally and economically abusing her as he kept the keys to the pantry denying her food.

"Your Worship I am no longer at peace and whenever I see this man walking into the house I get scared. He left me 10 years ago and has been hopping from one bed to another with women as young as our daughters.

"He is even denying me food in the house. He has been selling all we ever worked for to pamper his chain of women," said Ganyara.

Mutshina granted Ganyara the protection order and ordered Tosivepi to stop abusing his wife verbally, emotionally and economically.
