Zimbabweans warned against 'doom' prophets

AFM president Reverend Doctor Ashper Madziyire has castigated false pastors who mislead people under the guise of prophecy and warned them against undermining God's authority.

Reverend Madziyire was speaking at a graduation ceremony of students who completed courses in different disciplines at the Living Waters Seminary in the capital.

He emphasized the need for the church to work towards building the nation through strengthening Christianity among Zimbabweans.

He warned the citizens of the country not to be fooled by pastors who seek attention using dubious means.

Reverend Madziyire congratulated the graduands for taking up religious courses saying this helps shape and mould communities spiritually.

Advocate Nelson Chamisa who graduated with a diploma in theology and other graduates who spoke to ZBC News could not hide their joy and urged people to turn themselves to God and repent.

More than 200 students were conferred with diplomas in ministry, executive certificates in ministry, diplomas in theology and executive diplomas in Christian ministry and leadership.
