A grocery importation club run by the  MDC Bulawayo Provincial Women's Assembly has spectacularly crumbled amid widespread allegations that the head of the scheme has misused an estimated R7000 collections.

The group has 30 members.

According to reliable sources within the scheme, each member was contributing R120 per month with the expectation that club leaders would purchase groceries from South Africa.

Sources said, as per break down of contributions, R100 was the prescribed amount for groceries while R20 was for transport.

With 30 members, an estimated R3600 was collected each month.
Sources further added that it was expected that February and March contributions would be combined for one grocery purchase.

However, at the end of March, the scheme's treasurer identified as Tendai Masocha failed to purchase and deliver the groceries.
"She claims to be too busy with MDC congress preparation," said a disheartened club member.

Masocha is reportedly eying the women assembly provincial chairlady post.

In a shock leaked audio by a disgruntled club member identified by other club members as the voice of Barbara Tanyanyiwa, she could be heard  venting her disgust.

"It's unfortunate that someone in these economic hardship  could pull such a heartless move against her party members," Tanyanyiwa is heard saying.
Ironically, Tanyanyiwa is a close friend of Masocha, sources claimed.

Added Tanyanyiwa " She is my friend and I support her in politics.  However, what she is doing now, swindling fellow members makes it difficult for other party women to trust and even nominate her.
"Club members did not get their groceries and can you imagine what they are surviving on now".

Bulawayo24 could not immediately independently verify Tanyanyiwa's voice.
