Home Affairs Minister Kazembe Kazembe who is also Mashonaland Central province ZANU-PF chairperson has been accused of trying to manipulate District elections which are currently being held in the province in a bid to regain his chairmanship which is hanging by a thread.
According to an inside source, Kazembe recently held a meeting at his farm in Mazowe with nine of his allies who are being sponsored by illegal gold buyers.
"Kazembe held a meeting with an agenda to impose District Chairpersons for the fourth coming district elections the influential people who were in attendance are Fredrick Nhaka, Obert Masaka, Johah Ngwenya, Tawanda Michael Gezi, Wandei Matches, Patrick Masango, the only woman was Vena Madhake and two other illegal miners, "the source said.
"The agenda of the meeting was to create parallel structures in the province and cause confusion in the looming elections so that he remains in control since the provincial elections have been suspended by the President."
Kazembe declined to comment.
However, he is not new to controversy as he was found wanting by the commissariat after co-opting some of his allies to the Provincial Executive Committee and giving one of them a party vehicle to campaign for him, the commissariat subsequently nullified his co-options.
