A remorseful Mudzi woman surrendered herself to the police after seven months of abandoning her newly born baby by the roadside in Mutoko.
The matter came to light at Mutoko magistrates courts on Friday where Emma Kamunyu (25) appeared before magistrate Rumbidzayi Mhandu.
Kamunyu was slapped with six months jail term which was wholly suspended on condition that she does not commit a similar offense in the next five years.

The baby was picked by a good Samaritan Alice Manhambara who went with the child to the police station and filed a police report.
The baby was handed over to the department of social service where she was named.
