Former Minister's widow steals 49 goats

Former Finance Minister's widow Kuruneri Paidamoyo (60) and her farm labourer Wenston Mandeya (30) both of Ascotvale Farm in Mazowe on Tuesday appeared before Concession Magistrate Ms Lyne Chinzou facing stock theft charges.
The state which was represented by Precious Khanye heard that on 10 May 2023 the duo stole the goats from Milton Buwerimwe of Plot 1, Tagura Farm also in Mazowe.
The duo was remanded in custody to Wednesday for sentencing.
The court heard that on the day in question school children spotted the accused driving the goats to their plot.
The court further heard that Milton tried in vain to recover his goats from the duo but they refused resulting in him making a police report.
"The complainant tried to recover his goats but accused number 2(Wenston) denied to hand over the goat", the court heard.
However police managed to recover 32 goats worth $1775-00.
