A 43-YEAR-OLD Shamva woman died after being attacked by a crocodile at Mazowe River last week.
The remains of Yuvhona Masara were discovered floating in Mazowe River by a neighbour Shorai Gadaga (40) yesterday.
Mashonaland Central deputy police spokesperson Sergeant Major Samuel Chikasha confirmed the case.
"I can confirm a sudden death case in Shamva where remains of the now deceased Masara were discovered floating in Mazowe River," Chikasha said.
Allegations are that the now-deceased Masara who was mentally ill left home on July 30 without telling her husband Makanza Nyakasoka (52).
On August 6 Nyakasoka went and filed a police report after missing his wife for a week.
A neighbour saw the remains of the deceased floating and informed the police who retrieved the body and conveyed it to Shamva hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
Police warned people not to play near water bodies.
