Pretoria Portland Cement (PPC) Zimbabwe Limited has officially announced the resignation of its Managing Director, Mr. Kelibone Masiyane. His successor, Mr. Albert Sigei, is set to assume the role starting on January 1, 2024.
Mr. Masiyane had been appointed as the Managing Director of the prominent cement producer in 2016, having initially joined the company in 1994 as a trainee electrical engineer at the Colleen Bawn Plant. Over the years, he advanced through the ranks, eventually becoming the General Manager of the Colleen Bawn Plant and Bulawayo Factory in 2009.
In a statement released on Monday, PPC noted, "After 29 years of service at PPC Zimbabwe Limited, seven of which were spent as the company's leader, Mr. Kelibone Masiyane has informed the company's board of his decision to step down from his role as Managing Director. Mr. Masiyane will continue to assist with the transition until December 31, 2023."
The company has expressed its appreciation for Mr. Masiyane's dedicated work, which has contributed to the company's growth. Despite the challenging economic conditions, PPC, under Mr. Masiyane's leadership, consistently improved its financial performance, delivering higher returns to shareholders. The company also noted significant progress in fulfilling its environmental and safety commitments during his tenure.
