Conveyor belt crushes teenager to death

A mine worker at Canterbury Milling Centre in Shamva was crushed to death between a conveyor belt and a roller crusher on Sunday.
The nineteen-year-old Khumbulani Mdlongwa Vuyelwa was crushed while working at the crushing plant where he was putting spilt ore back on the conveyor belt.
Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe confirmed the case.
"I can confirm a sudden death in Shamva where Vuyelwa was crushed to death on a conveyor belt," Mundembe said.
Allegations are that on December 8 the now deceased was working together with his colleague Denis Phiri who observed that he was being crashed and switched off the trip switch but he was already dead.
Police attended the scene and no foul play is suspected.
