Zimbabwe's Special Presidential Investment Advisor, Dr. Paul Tungwarara, has been granted a 10-year Golden Visa by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a move seen as deepening the country's economic ties with the Gulf region.

The long-term residency permit, reserved for investors, entrepreneurs and highly skilled professionals, allows holders to live in the UAE, sponsor family members and operate businesses without the requirement of continuous presence in the country.

UAE authorities confirmed the decision after conducting a background vetting process, citing confidence in Dr. Tungwarara's professional track record.

A prominent entrepreneur with interests spanning real estate, infrastructure development and cross-border trade, Dr. Tungwarara has played a key role in efforts to attract foreign direct investment into Zimbabwe.

The Golden Visa is expected to enhance his ability to forge stronger partnerships in the Middle East, at a time when Gulf-based investors are showing growing interest in African markets.

Analysts say the development could boost Zimbabwe's international investment profile and help unlock new streams of capital from the UAE and beyond.
