Artisanal miner jailed for peddling drugs

An artisanal miner from Matopo was jailed at Plumtree magistrates courts after he was found in possession of dagga.
Chikati Dhliwayo (24) was sentenced to eighteen months in jail by magistrate Joshua Nembaware.
Nembaware conditionally suspended six months of the sentence.
Prosecutor Sheila Nyathi told the court on September 2 that the police intercepted Nigel Sibanda, who had a sachet of dagga, and he implicated the convict.
The police went to search the convict's sharks and recovered 64 sachets of dagga wrapped inside a plastic.
They weighed the dagga, and it weighed 290 grammes.
